Fulfill a local pickup order
Use this workflow when a customer chooses in-store pickup so the order is only marked complete after the item has actually been collected.
Before you start
- Make sure the customer has arrived and the item has been handed over.
- For one-of-a-kind resale items, confirm the correct item is leaving the store before you mark the order complete.
- Do not fulfill the order early, or your order status and inventory history may be inaccurate.
Note
Mark local pickup orders as fulfilled after pickup, not when the order is placed or prepared.
Fulfill a local pickup order
- In Ribbn, go to Orders > All Orders.
- Find the order:
- Use Search to look up the order, or
- Click Filters and set Shipment Type to Local_Pick_Up.
- Open the order.
- Click Fulfill Items.
- Confirm the order is now marked as completed.
Quick reference
| Task | What to do |
|---|---|
| Find pickup orders | Go to Orders > All Orders and filter by Shipment Type: Local_Pick_Up |
| Mark pickup complete | Open the order and click Fulfill Items |
| When to fulfill | Only after the customer has collected the order |
Operational notes
- Use the shipment filter to work through pickup orders faster during daily store operations.
- For omnichannel orders, make sure the in-store handoff has happened before updating the order status.
- For unique or single-quantity items, double-check the item before fulfillment so the correct inventory attribution is preserved.
If something doesn’t look right
- If the customer has not picked up the order yet, leave it unfulfilled.
- If you opened the wrong order, go back to All Orders and search again.
- If you cannot find the order, check that the shipment type filter is set to Local_Pick_Up or clear filters and search by order details.
Next step
After the order is fulfilled, no further pickup action is needed unless your store also follows a separate in-store handoff or customer service process.
