Set Commission (Default + Custom)

Where this fits in “Getting Started”

Setting commission is Step 4 in the Ribbn onboarding flow, after you’ve confirmed your Business Settings, Store Locations, and added Users. It ensures every product has a clear earnings split between your store and the seller.

What “commission” means in Ribbn

  • Default store commission is the commission rate Ribbn applies automatically to products and sellers unless you override it.
  • This store commission represents your store’s earnings.
  • You can also set custom commissions for specific products (and in bulk), when the default doesn’t match a particular scenario.
If your store is the seller of an item, Ribbn automatically sets your earnings to 100%.

Default commission (set once, applies going forward)

Overview

Set a default store commission rate that automatically applies to all new products (and their associated sellers) unless you manually override it later.

Changing the default commission only affects new products created after the change. Existing listings are not updated retroactively.

Commission format (decimal)

Enter commission as a decimal value.

Example:

  • If you want to take 60% commission (seller receives 40%), enter:
text
0,6
This example uses a comma decimal separator (0,6) as shown in the source content. If your device/browser expects a dot, verify which format your Ribbn admin UI accepts before saving.

How to set the default store commission

  1. Go to your Ribbn Dashboard.
  2. Click the Products tab.
  3. Navigate to Settings → Product Commission & Fees.
  4. Enter your desired default commission as a decimal (example: 0,6 for 60%).
  5. Click Save changes.

After saving, Ribbn will automatically apply this default commission to all products created going forward.

Custom commission (override default for special cases)

When to customise commission

Custom commissions are useful when your standard default doesn’t fit every seller or item—for example:

  • Reward VIP sellers with a more favorable split.
  • Attract premium inventory by offering lower commissions on high-value items.

Set a custom commission per product

You can override the default commission directly on a product.

Option 1: During product creation (Regular mode)

  • When uploading a product in Regular mode, set a custom commission as part of the creation flow.

Option 2: Update an existing product

  1. Open the product you want to change.
  2. Go to the Accounting Details tab.
  3. Locate the Commission field.
  4. Enter the custom commission value.

This custom commission will apply to that product only (it will not change your global default).

Bulk edit (update commission across multiple products)

If you need to customise commission for multiple products at once, use Bulk Edit to update many listings in one action.

The source content references additional instructions: “Learn more about how to use Bulk Edit here.” For the full workflow, follow the Bulk Edit help guidance from within the commission article.
