Bulk Edit Products

Overview

The Bulk Edit tool lets you efficiently update multiple products at once—for example, to update statuses, add/remove tags, adjust pricing, and more.

Bulk Edit works best when you first use filters to narrow down the exact set of products you want to change.

When to use Bulk Edit

Use Bulk Edit when you need to:

  • Apply the same change across many products (status, tags, price, commission, etc.)
  • Prepare or reset groups of items for Sale/Clearance
  • Send a message to the vendors/sellers related to selected items
  • Export, duplicate, delete, or update inventory locations in bulk

Bulk edit workflow (step-by-step)

1) Go to Product View

Navigate to the main products list (Product View).

2) Filter the products you want to edit

Use filters to narrow the list to the set of products you intend to change.

3) Select the products

You can either:

  • Manually select individual products, or
  • Click Select All

Important selection behavior

  • Select All only marks the 25 products visible on the current page.
  • To select more than 25 products, click the blue text near the bottom (next to Actions) that says: Select all XX products that match query.
If you skip the “Select all XX products that match query” step, you may only update the first page of results (25 items).

4) Double-check the number of selected items

Confirm the selection count shown as “XX Items selected” before making changes.

Editing options after selection

Once products are selected, you’ll use either the Edit Products button or the Actions button.

Choose the right control

  • Edit Products: structured field updates (brand, taxonomy, price, status, etc.)
  • Actions: operational actions (tags, publish/republish, messaging, export, delete, etc.)

“Edit Products” options

Use Edit Products for bulk field edits like the following:

Bulk edit optionWhat it updatesExamples / notes

Taxonomy examples

Taxonomy values may include:

  • Primary Segment (e.g., Man/Women)
  • Product Category (e.g., Clothes/Shoes/Accessories)
  • Product type (e.g., Outerwear, Bottoms)
  • Product Style (e.g., Blazer, Cargo Pants)
Taxonomy and size edits are tied to Ribbn’s taxonomy systems. If you don’t see a value you expect, it may require taxonomy updates rather than a Bulk Edit change.

Send a bulk message to sellers (using Bulk Edit)

Purpose

When unexpected delays happen (or something has occurred), it’s important to keep sellers informed. A simple, kind note helps maintain trust and transparency. Ribbn’s built-in messaging tools let you send a bulk message to the sellers associated with selected items.

Step-by-step

Step 1: Navigate to the Products Dashboard

  1. Go to your Products dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Products > All Products.
  3. This view shows your full catalog, including items that have been sold.

Step 2: Filter to target the right sellers (example: Sold Date)

To target sellers associated with items sold within a certain period:

  1. Click the Filter button.
  2. Choose Sold Date.
  3. Select the time range you want to communicate about (e.g., past week, past month, or a custom date range).
Filtering determines which items (and therefore which sellers) are included when you send the bulk message.

Step 3: Select all relevant items

  • Use the Select All checkbox to mark all items shown in the filtered view.

If you need more than the first page of items:

  • Click Select all XX products that match query.

Step 4: Send a Bulk Message

  1. Click Bulk Edit.
  2. Choose Message Sellers of selected Items.
  3. Write a kind and informative note explaining the delay.

Reuse option (template)

  • The message can be saved as a template to reuse later.
