Product Attribution (Improve Listing Quality)

Overview

Product Attribution is how you enrich a product in Ribbn after upload so it becomes more searchable, sortable, and ultimately more sellable. The Product Editor is organized into tabs; each tab contains fields that improve listing quality and shopper filtering when completed accurately.

High-quality attribution reduces manual fixes later and improves discoverability across search, filters, and merchandising.

Accessing the Product Editor

  1. Log in on desktop and open Dashboard
  2. Navigate to Products → All Products
  3. Select the product you want to edit

This opens the Product Editor with the tabs described below.

Media Files

Use this tab to manage and prioritize product imagery.

What you can do

  • Drag and drop images to reorder them
  • Move your preferred front image to the top position (this becomes the primary image)
  • Use Seller Uploaded images as a fallback image library
    • These appear at the bottom
    • Useful if you haven’t uploaded any images yourself
Putting the best “front image” first improves click-through and listing consistency.

Categorization (Product Taxonomy)

Categorization follows Ribbn’s taxonomy tree. Choose the most accurate path for the item.

Taxonomy structure

  • Primary Segment → e.g., Woman
  • Category → e.g., Clothing
  • Type → e.g., Jeans
  • Style → e.g., Wide leg

Additional fields

  • Brand
  • Color
  • Material

Autofill and AI support

If you:

  • uploaded a product taxonomy, or
  • used Ribbn’s default taxonomy,

…Ribbn can help autofill fields. AI may also support auto-completion depending on your upload method.

If you need a refresher on how Ribbn organizes taxonomy, see the referenced hub article: Product Taxonomy System.

Size & Measurements

This tab maps the item to Ribbn’s Size Taxonomy to standardize sizing and improve shopper filtering.

Fields you’ll complete

  • Measurement Category: Choose the product category used for measurement logic
  • Label Size: What the physical tag says (e.g., 42, Medium)
  • Standard Size: Converted standardized size
    • Ribbn generally uses S / M / L as the standard size type
  • Fit Remark: Notes like “Runs small” or “Oversized”
  • Detailed Measurements:
    • Choose cm or inches
    • Measurement fields shown depend on the Measurement Category (e.g., Jacket vs. Pants)

Troubleshooting incorrect measurement fields

If the measurement inputs look wrong:

  • Re-check the Measurement Category at the top first
(it controls which measurement fields appear)
For deeper guidance on standard sizing, see: Size Taxonomy.

Condition

Use this tab to clearly communicate product state and care details.

Fields

  • Condition: New, Like New, Good, etc.
  • Condition Remarks: Optional supporting notes
  • Product Remarks: Defects, damage, wear, or other important comments
  • Care Instructions: Washing guidance and material-specific advice
Always disclose defects in Product Remarks. This protects buyer trust and reduces returns and disputes.

Accounting Details

This tab controls seller mapping, commission, and pricing—including whether tax should be applied.

Ownership & Commission

  • Owner / Seller: Map the product to the correct seller
    • If you own the product (e.g., purchased into stock), set it to yourself
  • Your Commission: Enter as a decimal
    • Example: 0,5 = 50%

  • Charge Tax on this product: Toggle whether tax is applied (VAT, Sales Tax, moms, etc.)
    • YES (Taxable): VAT/moms will be added at checkout (based on buyer location)
    • NO (Non-taxable): No VAT/moms is added at checkout

Key fields and what they do

  • Status *: Move the product through workflow stages (e.g., sell request review) so you can track where it is in the process
  • Product Class:
    • Unique = one-of-a-kind (recommended for most resale items)
    • Other classes may apply for multi-variant items
  • Inventory Location: Where the product is physically stored (e.g., ReRobe Torsgatan)
    • Track per location:
      • Incoming Amount
      • Available Amount
    • Use Add another inventory location if stored in multiple places
  • Weight Unit: Unit for shipping calculations (Kilograms, Grams, Ounces, Pounds)
    • Recommended: KILOGRAMS to ensure correct shipping rate calculations
  • Weight Range: Select a range to improve shipping cost estimates (e.g., 0.5–1.0)
  • Weight, kg: Auto-populated with the upper limit of the selected range, but you can override with the exact weight (e.g., 0,5)
  • RFID Tag: Assigned via the Ribbn mobile app
    • If a number appears, the product is linked to an RFID
    • Can also be used for QR code workflows
  • SKU (Optional): Custom internal SKU for internal tracking or external system sync
  • Tags: Custom labels for organizing inventory
