Check Out In Store (App POS)
Overview
Use Check Out In Store (App POS) to sell products in person from the Ribbn mobile app. The flow covers adding items to a cart (scan or search), linking the sale to a customer profile, and completing payment (cash/manual or card reader).
This page lives in **Orders & POS → Store POS**, and complements the broader **Orders** area where you manage and track customer orders.
When to use App POS checkout
Use this checkout flow when you are:
- Selling a tagged item using RFID/QR scanning
- Selling an untagged item by searching the catalog
- Taking cash/manual payment (Mark as Paid) or card payment with a connected reader
What you’ll need
Before you start, make sure you have:
- Access to the Ribbn app and you can log in
- (Optional) The item has an RFID/QR tag if you want to scan it
- (Optional) A connected Stripe/Zettle Reader for card payments

Step-by-step: Check out in store (Ribbn app)
1) Log in
- Open the Ribbn app on your phone.
- Log in to access the store interface.
2) Add product(s) to the cart
- Tap the shopping cart icon with a plus sign (bottom of the screen).
- Add items using one of these options:

| Scan RFID/QR | Item is tagged | Scan using the QR scanner |
| Search manually | Item isn’t tagged (or scanning isn’t available) | Search the product by name |
3) Select product(s) and view order summary
- Choose the product from the list/search results.
- Select one or more products by tapping the circle in the top-left corner of each item.
- Tap Add to Cart.
- Tap View Order Summary when you’re done.
4) Link the sale to a customer
- Tap Link to User.
- If the customer already exists, search and select their profile.
- If the customer is new:
- Tap the + icon at the top to create a new profile.
- Enter (or let the customer enter) their:
- name
- phone number
Linking a customer profile helps ensure the customer receives an order confirmation email after checkout.
5) Complete payment
Choose the payment method that matches how the customer is paying:

| Mark as Paid | Cash or other offline/manual methods | Records the sale as paid |
| Stripe/Zettle Reader | Card payments | Ensure the reader is connected to Stripe |
Then confirm the transaction to finalize the purchase.
6) What happens after payment (sale confirmation)
After payment is completed:
- The product is marked as sold
- The order is updated in the system
- The customer receives an order confirmation email
